Holloway Stops The Korean Zombie In The Third Round As The Latter Announces His Retirement
Max Holloway stopped Chan Sung Jung, the Korean Zombie, in the third round at UFC Fight Night 225.
In the opening round, Holloway began on the front foot with the use of his kicks but the first sign of success was when both fighters connected with left.
Jung aimed to close the distance, but he paid the price as Holloway landed a big counter that buckled Jung.
Both fighters then exchanged near the cage, as Holloway landed a huge left hook upstairs and then a combination to the body.
Jung responded with a right that was countered by a body kick in a frantic first round.

The second round was a better star for the ‘Korean Zombie.’ He landed a sharp left but Holloway hit back with a takedown attempt.
However, Jung evaded the anaconda choke as he made his way back up to a standing position.
Jung sought to increase the work rate as he swung with more ferocity, but Holloway continued to land counters which slowed down any momentum.

And it all came to a head in the third round. Jung came out recklessly, as he aimed to shut out his opponent. Holloway replied with a massive right hand to counter him, as the latter hit the canvas.
The bout was over, as Holloway secured his second victory in a row since losing to the champion Alexander Volkanovski. As for Jung, he announced his retirement from the sport.
Reaction
“Give it up for ‘Korean Zombie,’ this guy’s a f****** legend. He’s ‘The Korean Zombie’ for a reason. I’m just lucky my right hand landed before his.
“I can’t even talk about the fight right now. Only thing on my mind is Lahaina, Maui. This one is for you guys. If you guys can, please on Instagram, share to the world and help my fellow Hawaiians. It really means a lot,” Holloway
“I’m going to stop fighting. I’ve always aimed to become a champion when I first started the sport. I’m not here to be ranked third, fourth or fifth. I tried my absolute best to prepare for Max Holloway.
“I really, really believed I could beat him but I ended up failing so I don’t think I have the opportunity anymore. I think I’m going to stop fighting,” Jung
