Holloway vs. Volkanovski Added to UFC 245
A second title fight has reportedly been added to the UFC 245 card in December, and it will feature Max Holloway defending the UFC featherweight championship against No. 1 contender Alexander Volkanovski.
MMAJunkie confirmed the addition of the title fight, following an initial report from the Daily Telegraph. Volkanovski himself then teased the fight in a tweet.

Holloway, the holder of the longest current win streak in UFC featherweight division history, as well as most wins and finishes in division history, most recently competed at UFC 240 in July, successfully defending the title against Frankie Edgar.
The win over Edgar marked a rebound for Holloway, who lost to Dustin Poirier in an interim lightweight title fight at UFC 236, Holloway’s first venture at 155 pounds and a loss that snapped a 13-fight win streak.
Holloway won the interim featherweight title against Anthony Pettis at UFC 206 before unifying the championship against former longtime champ Jose Aldo at UFC 212. He retained the title against Aldo at UFC 218 and against Brian Ortega at UFC 231.
Volkanovski, meanwhile, has lost just once since his May 2012 debut and s 7-0 since his first Octagon appearance in late 2016. Volkanovski’s two most recent wins have gained him major attention, finishing Chad Mendes in the UFC 232 Fight of the Night before defeating Aldo at UFC 237.
In an interview with Barstool Sports earlier this week, UFC President Dana White teased that UFC 245 would have three title fights. The only other title fight currently known for the card is Amanda Nunes defending the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie.
