Holly Holm Isn’t Retiring Soon

Former champion Holly Holm (14-5-0) will not retire any time soon.

The 40-year-old is targeted to fight at a UFC Fight Night event against Ketlen Vieira (12-2-0) on May 21.

Holm held her latest appearance in October 2020. She is on a two-fight winning streak, both earned in 2020, but she was forced to withdraw from her bout in 2021.

Fans thought that it was the end for the veteran fighter. Holm is one of the best strikers in the division.

“I’m definitely super frustrated, especially when people are like ‘are you retired?'” Holm told MMA Fighting.

“I’m like no! Not retired! But I can see them may be thinking that because they haven’t seen me fight. I want to show them what I’ve got and especially because my last fight, I got to show even more of my game from what had been seen before. I get excited cause I want to show more and show more and I keep running into these barriers. It’s definitely frustrating.”

In May, she may potentially earn the opportunity to make a statement once again. She is targeted to face Vieira, who is 10 years younger than the former champion.

Vieira held her last fight in November of 2021 and earned a dominant victory against Miesha Tate.
