Holm vs. Ladd Off For UFC 235
UFC 235 got a dealt a major blow as UFC President Dana White announced that Holly Holm vs. Aspen Ladd is no longer taking place on the show.
White told reporters at a recent UFC 235 press conference that the fight is no longer happening, although he did not specify the reason for doing so. The fight would have been Holm’s first since June 2018 and Aspen’s second fight since the end of 2017.
“That fight’s not going to happen, that’s why they’re not up here. We’re working on another fight for both of them (not on this card),” White said.
Ladd would not take too kindly to the news as she posted the following on Instagram and alleging that she was not aware of the change in plans before the press conference even took place.

I signed to fight Holly Holm on 12/27/18. I'm ready to go, and am finding out this information, just now, like everyone else. I don't know why Holly and her team have now backed out. Sorry everyone, this sucks, hopefully I have some good news to share soon. #thisblows #fightsoff #butwhy?
Brett Okamoto of ESPN tweeted a response from Holm’s agent Lenny Fresquez claiming the fight was canceled due to ongoing contract negotiations.
