Holyfield’s Son Signed By NFL’s Panthers

While he wasn’t selected over the course of the three day NFL Draft, Elijah Holyfield will make the jump to the National Football League this coming season.

Holyfield, son of Hall of Fame boxer and former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion of the world, Evander Holyfield, joins the NFC South contender Carolina Panthers after ending his college career with the University of Georgia.

Holyfield rushed for 1,000 yards in his last season as a Bulldog, but the 20-year old would fall on team’s draft boards after running a disappointing 4.78 during the NFL Combine’s 40-yard dash.

Holyfield is one of four undrafted free agents to join the Panthers, who look to bounce back from a lackluster 7-9 record during the 2018 regular season.
