Horn May Make Major Move After Loss
After his trainer earned the brunt of criticism for his loss last weekend, former WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn may end his long relationship with Glenn Rushton.
Rushton has taken criticism for not stopping Horn’s fight against Michael Zerafa instead of letting his fighter get knocked out in the middle of the ring.
“Half of you says you want to throw the towel in and the other half says if he grabs him and hangs on, we’re close to the end of the round,” Rushton said in a statement following the loss.
“The corner should never have allowed him to take that much punishment,’’ former boxer Jeff Fenech told News. “I thought it was disgraceful.’’
Another issue came from Horn’s diet, which Rushton claims was full of junk food due to his move from welterweight to middleweight.
“We’ve got to sit down and have that long, hard talk and say exactly what does that look like, diet-wise work-wise and really put the effort in,” Rushton said.
