Hrgovic Drops Adeleye On His Way To A Decision Win

Filip Hrgovic (19-1, 14 KOs) defeated David Adeleye (14-2, 13 KOs) by a unanimous decision, 98-91, 99-90, 99-90, on the Moses Itauma vs. Dillian Whyte card.

Hrgovic started well, repeatedly landing his jabs and a one-two combination. Adeleye fought back in the second, landing a jab that opened a cut above Hrgovic’s right eye. A left hook from Adeleye at the end of the third shook Hrgovic, who responded by upping the pace in the fourth, landing chopping right hands. Yet, Adeleye mounted a comeback in the seventh with a series of sharp left hooks.

The fight turned in the eighth round, however, Hrgovic landed a perfect right hand that buckled Adeleye’s knees. He followed up with a overhand right that sent Adeleye crashing to the canvas. Adeleye got up, and landed big shots of his own. However, Hrgovic maintained his dominance through the final two rounds to get the decision. He could now target Moses Itauma, who beat Dillian Whyte, or even a rematch with Daniel Dubois.
