Hrgovic Steps In For Dillian Whyte To Fight Joe Joyce

Filip Hrgovic will now face Joe Joyce on April 5 after Dillian Whyte pulled out with a hand injury, giving the Croatian the opportunity.

Hrgovic is looking to bounce back from his last performance, which resulted in a stoppage defeat to Daniel Dubois. He missed out on becoming the IBF Interim Heavyweight Champion, which would have resulted in him getting the full belt once Oleksandr Usyk vacated.

Meanwhile, Joyce has plenty to prove, having come up short in his unanimous decision defeat to Derek Chisora. Joyce only has one win in his last four bouts, having lost twice to Zhilei Zhang and Chisora. Warren expects the winner to boost their chances of getting a title shot later down the line.

“It’s a tough fight for both of them. It’s exactly the same as the fight he had before, Joe, against Dillian. The winner goes on, the loser is going to have to think about what he does,” Warren said
