Hughie Fury In-Line For Pulev If Miller Pulls Out

As Tuesday’s deadline heads to a close, it may be Hughie Fury and not Jarrell Miller, who faced Kubrat Pulev later this year in an IBF final eliminator.

The holder of the British Heavyweight title is the next available opponent in the IBF’s rankings to face Pulev, who is in the midst of negotiating with Miller. The purse bid was won by Epic Sports and Entertainment in June, and look to have the fight in Sofia, Bulgaria. Miller, who may already be in-line for a shot at Anthony Joshua and his world titles in Joshua’s U.S. debut, is not interested in traveling to Bulgaria to fight Pulev..

The IBF have confirmed that a 15-day period for Miller to accept the offer, or turn it down, will end on Tuesday.

“We went to the purse bid and Pulev won the purse bid, so we’re still waiting,” IBF Championships Chairman Lindsey E Tucker told Sky Sports.

Alexander Povetkin, who is ranked fourth by the IBF, is the alleged September opponent for Joshua in a WBA mandatory title fight, leaving Fury, who is ranked fifth, next for Pulev.
