Hughie Fury Vs. Michael Hunter WBA Eliminator Scheduled For October

Heavyweight candidate Hughie Fury has suggested that a new date has been declared for his WBA heavyweight title eliminator against Michael Hunter.

This bout is now reportedly scheduled for October 29.

Initially, there were rumors about this fight taking place in July, but the fight was postponed because Fury withdrew due to an illness.

“There’s nothing worse than having to pull out of a fight,” Fury told Sky Sports News. “My path is now direct for Michael Hunter, and then onto the next.”

After watching his cousin Tyson Fury setting the standards as the WBC heavyweight champion, Fury wants to create his own legacy.

Hunter isn’t expecting big things from his upcoming opponent and believes that this fight would be a stepping stone.

“He can say what he wants – at the end of the day, he’s getting knocked spark out. I don’t want to devalue him, he’s a good fighter and obviously, no one wanted to fight him. But these are the fights I want. We’ll see what he’s got to bring on the night. I’m 100% looking forward to the opportunity for the world titles,” Fury said.
