‘I Think We Can Do It’: Katie Taylor Vs. Amanda Serrano Continue Negotiations

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano have been on a roll in their respective careers, steamrolling through any opponent they face, but they are yet to go toe-to-toe against each other.

Taylor is one of the finest boxers ever coming from Ireland. She has been undefeated (19-0) so far and has been an absolute queen of the 130-pound weight class. The 35-year-old has bagged countless European titles.

Similarly, fighting out of Puerto Rico, Serrano has a decorated resume with 41 wins and only one loss coming up against former WBC super-featherweight champion Frida Wallberg in 2012.

Serrano has been the unified featherweight world champion for a while now and a super fight against Taylor will only inflate stocks of both boxing aces.

“That fight is definitely on my radar,” Serrano previously said. “I definitely still want to have that fight with Katie Taylor. She’s one of the best, and I would love nothing more than to share the ring with Katie Taylor.”

Even Matchroom Sports chairman Eddie Hearn has given a green signal for the showdown.

“They appear to wanna make that fight – so do we,” he explained. “We’ve already spoken to The Garden about doing that fight in April. DAZN approves of that fight in abundance. I think we can do it.”

Serrano is scheduled to box Miriam Gutierrez in the co-main event of Jake Paul’s clash with Tommy Fury on December 18 in Florida. On the other hand, Taylor will face Firuza Sharipova on December 11.
