Iaquinta Wants Ferguson For Next Fight

Al Iaquinta is looking to return to the Octagon after his loss at UFC 223 in April, and he wants to face the man he somewhat replaced against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Iaquinta would step in for Max Holloway, who stepped in for Tony Ferguson, who was injured prior to UFC 223 fight week in a freak accident. “Ragin’ Al” is hoping to face Ferguson, someone who he “can’t stand” in a November showdown, whether it be UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden, or any of the fight night events that litter the month, with stops in Beijing, Argentina, and Denver, Colorado.

The Long Island Native told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani that he’s “healthier than he’s been in years,” and wants to bounce back from his decision loss to Nurmagomedov in April.

Iaquinta was initially set to fight next weekend at UFC Fight Night: Lincoln, but Iaquinta would withdraw in late June, and has been very open with his issues with UFC management.

Initial Report: Bloody Elbow
