IBF Orders Pulev-Miller Title Eliminator
When Dillian Whyte took up an offer to face Joseph Parker, the IBF was left needing to readjust and find a new title eliminator opponent for Kubrat Pulev.
The IBF may now have that needed man, as the organization has ordered an eliminator between Pulev and Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller.
As Dan Rafael of ESPN reported, the IBF received notice from Pulev’s team that they will not negotiate and have asked for a purse bid. That bid is scheduled for June 25 at the IBF’s offices in Springfield, New Jersey, but an offer can still be agreed upon until 15 minutes before the purse bid.
Pulev went unbeaten in his first 20 fights, gaining the IBF International and European heavyweight titles, before suffering a fifth-round knockout loss in a title shot against then-IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko. Pulev has since rebounded winning five in a row. He was scheduled to challenge Anthony Joshua for the WBA, IBF and IBO titles back in October before having to withdraw because of injury.
Jarrell Miller has gone unbeaten in 22 fights, winning 21 of them. Over the last year, Miller has defeated three former world title challengers in Gerald Washington, Mariusz Wach and Johann Duhaupas.
