Ilia Topuria Teases A Fight In Spain – ‘I Have A Date’

Ilia Topuria, the UFC Featherweight Champion, says he has a date for a UFC Spain fight.

Topuria’s next fight will be a first defense of his belt, which he won against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298. He knocked out the Australian in the second round, giving him his first-stoppage defeat at the weight class. It also ended Volk’s four-year reign as a champion.

There are several possible names for his next fight. The champion could run things back with Volkanovski. Volk has earned a shot at winning his belt back, given he is one of the most active fighters in the UFC. There is also talk over a fight with Max Holloway. Holloway became the BMF Champion, beating Justin Gaethje at UFC 300.

Holloway ended the fight with a stoppage when there was a second left. Topuria watched that fight live, as Holloway called him out. Topuria said he was only interested in the fight if they could fight for the BMF belt. Brian Ortega is another name. While Ortega defeated Yair Rodriguez in his previous bout, he only has two wins out of his previous four UFC fights. Now, Topuria’s next fight is close to being announced.
