Injury Forces Kim Clavel Out of Beterbiev-Browne Show In December

Kim Clavel has been forced to withdraw from her December 17 fight after suffering an undisclosed injury.

The news was confirmed by Yvon Michel, head of GYM Promotions, on Thursday. He revealed that Clavel will have to undergo treatments for the next three weeks.

“Her WBC fight on December 17 is therefore postponed to a later date,” the French-Canadian boxing promoter confirmed.

The unbeaten junior flyweight was eager to square off against Yesenia Gomez at Bell Centre in her hometown of Montreal, Canada.

Now, the undefeated star will have to wait until at least the end of this year to get a title fight.

The 31-year-old has been a household name in women’s boxing from a young age.

In 2020, she bagged the Pat Tillman Award for Courage for working as a nurse during the coronavirus pandemic. Clavel has fought thrice since then.

After the outbreak was brought under control, she resumed boxing training and went on to beat Natalie Gonzalez in an eight-rounder. The fight was held on July 21 in Las Vegas.

She then clinched a ten-round win against Maria Soledad Vargas in August in Montreal. The bout came with the WBC Silver title at stake which positioned her for a shot at Cancun’s Gomez.
