Inoue vs. Goodman Canceled; Goodman Suffers Another Cut

Naoya Inoue vs. Sam Goodman has been postponed again after the latter suffered another cut above his eye.

The fight was set to take place on December 24 and then January 24 in Tokyo, Japan. But it is now off after reports Goodman got another cut. Inoue is the Undisputed Super Bantamweight Champion after beating Marlon Tapales last year. The victory made him undisputed in a second weight class, as he joined Terence Crawford and Oleksandr Usyk in doing that in the four-belt era.

He defended his belts with successful stoppage wins against Luis Nery and TJ Doheny in his last bout. Goodman is undefeated with a 19-0 record. He is the WBO mandatory and has eight knockouts to his name. His last fight was a win against Thachtana Luangphon. Inoue’s promoter, Bob Arum, said he plans to box in the United States next year, provided he comes through this fight. Goodman will hope he recovers fast, while Inoue will now face South Korea’s Ye Joon Kim.
