Invicta FC 40 Results: Emily Ducote Vs. Juliana Lima

For the first time since March, Invicta FC will be returning to action. The promotion will be in Kansas City, Kansas on July 2 for Invicta FC 40.

The main event will be Emily Ducote facing off against Juliana Lima in a strawweight bout. A former Bellator star, Ducote (8-6) lost to Ilima-Lei Macfarlane to determine the first Bellator Flyweight Champion. She joined Invicta in 2019, beating Janaisa Morandin via knockout. The 26-year-old’s last fight was in November, losing to Kanako Murata for the vacant Invicta FC Strawweight Title.

After one fight with the promotion in 2013, Lima (10-6) had a run with the UFC that included a 3-4 record. She returned to Invicta in May 2019, beating Danielle Taylor via split decision. Lima’s last bout was a unanimous decision loss against Brianna Van Buren back in May 2019.

The co-main event will be an atomweight bout featuring Alesha Zappitella v. Lindsey VanZandt. Open scoring will be utilized during this fight card and DeAnna Bennett v. Victoria Leonardo will not be taking place due to weigh-ins issues by Bennett.
