Is There An Update On Terence Crawford vs. Kell Brook?

Many have been wondering where do talks of Terence Crawford vs. Kell Brook currently stand.

Back in June, Brook expressed his desire to fight Crawford, who is at the top of the pound-for-pound list for many fight fans. That feeling is mutual it appears as Brook was reportedly offered $1.5 million to take the WBO Welterweight Title fight.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Brook gave a status update on the matchup.

“Talks are progressing and we feel like we are edging closer. My team have been in regular dialogue with Bob Arum. He assures us that both him and Crawford are bang up for it, so hopefully we can get it over the line and give the fight fans something to get excited about and to close 2020 in style. Crawford is the champ so rightfully they want the fight stateside, Vegas has been discussed. It suits me though. I have always wanted to fight in Las Vegas – the bright lights of ‘Sin City’. I’ve dethroned a welterweight American world champion in his own back yard before – I look forward to doing it again.”

In terms of a time frame for the bout, Brook said that Top Rank Boxing’s Bob Arum is targeting mid-November. Currently on the docket for that month is the big WBC and IBF Welterweight Title fight between champion Errol Spence Jr. and Danny Garcia. The exhibition clash between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. is also planned for that month. Interim WBA Super-Featherweight Champion Chris Colbert will also defend his title against Jaime Arboleda in November.

Up to this point, Crawford has a perfect pro boxing record of 36-0. Along the way, he’s earned 27 of those wins by way of knockout. Brook has only suffered two defeats in his career. Those were finishing losses to Spence and Gennadiy Golovkin. Brook’s record is still nothing to dismiss as he is 39-2 with 27 knockouts to his credit. He is also a former IBF Welterweight Champion.
