Israel Adesanya, Brandon Moreno make it big at UFC 263; Plus Full Results

Israel Adesanya got the win via decision as his attack on Marvin Vettori’s lead leg and takedown defense helped him one up the opponent on the judges’ scorecard. As confirmed by UFC President Dana White, he will next defend his strap against Robert Whittaker for the second time.

While the middleweight champion triumphed, UFC flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo fell to a familiar rival. Brendon Moreno finished what he failed to do so in the last outing against Figueiredo.

Moreno put on a stellar performance to become the first-ever Mexican-born UFC champion.  The new flyweight king was ecstatic to get his new belt as he poured his emotions out after submitting Figueiredo in the third round.

The other fight that sent the MMA fraternity abuzz was the Edwards-Diaz clash. Leon Edwards thumped Nate Diaz to win his 19th pro MMA fight. He won the fight via decision after surviving a late scare where Diaz went berserk. The Stockton Slugger went for a finish, but the fightback was too late.
