Israel Adesanya Is Not As Good As He Thinks According to Robert Whittaker

Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker does not seem too impressed with current champion Israel Adesanya’s title defense against Marvin Vettori on June 13. In his rematch against Vettori, the Last Stylebender clinched the fight via decision, dominating in every round. But Whittaker believes that Adesanya’s outing was average, and he is being overhyped considering his performances.

“He’s definitely not a God … and not even as good as he thinks he is,” Whittaker has said. “Watching that fight against Vettori, you can see he’s not untouchable. It reinforced the fact that he’s very human. Very touchable. I thought his performance was average. Not average in the context of being bad. But he (Adesanya) never did anything more than what he had to do.”

UFC President Dana White has made it clear that no one other than the Whittaker is next in line against Adesanya. The last they fought at UFC 243 in October 2019, Adesanya won via second-round KO.
