Israel Adesanya Is Open To A Future In The WWE
Israel Adesanya is open to pursuing a career with WWE.
Adesanya successfully defended his 185-pound title for a fifth time when he won via unanimous decision over Jared Cannonier at UFC 276 on July 2 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
WWE’s Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Paul LeVesque (a.k.a. Triple H) were in the crowd that night, and after the fight, Adesanya was asked by BT Sport about this, as well as his Undertaker-inspired walkout.
Adesanya revealed what a big fan of WWE he was growing up, and that he would be willing to give it a shot in the future.
“Definitely, that’s something I’ll try my hand at later on,” Adesanya said. “Just for fun. I’m not saying it’s going to be a full-time job, but I’m definitely going to jump in the WWE, or something along that line, just for the entertainment factor.”
He also said that he even broke his arm once while jumping off couches while attempting a shooting star press.
Adesanya’s UFC 276 walkout was a full homage to The Undertaker, featuring his recognizable entrance theme. Adesanya also sported a wide-brimmed hat and carried an urn with Cannonier’s name on it. The Undertaker shared his appreciation for the tribute after the show.
If he was to join the WWE after his UFC career, he would join a long list of fighters to also make that jump. Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey are two fighters who have achieved great successes within the WWE.
