Israel Adesanya Set To Train With UFC Featherweight Champ Alexander Volkanovski

While Israel Adesanya doesn’t have a fight currently on the books following his knockout loss to Joe Pyfer in March, it appears “The Last Stylebender” has returned to training, and might have a new home gym.

Adesanya (24-6) parted ways with City Kickboxing, his long-time training center, in July in what some are calling a necessary change given the former dominant 185-pound UFC champion now finds himself on a four-fight skid.

Adesanya dropped the middleweight title back in 2023 in a shocking upset loss to Sean Strickland. After the loss of his belt, he was submitted by Dricus du Plessis, then failed to bounce back against both Nassourdine Imavov and Joe Pyfer, suffering TKOs in both outings.

Now, Adesanya has been spotted training at Freestyle MMA in Australia, home of UFC featherweight champion Alexander Vokanovski, who puts his title on the line against Movsar Evloev in October. While at this time it appears Adesanya is just helping the champion in his ongoing fight camp, many feel that he could find a new home gym through the process, and maybe this will be the change that returns the 37-year-old to the win column.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Adesanya was seen putting in work with UFC lightweight competitor Mauricio Ruffy, who spends a portion of his fight camps with Freestyle MMA as well.
