Israel Adesanya Used The Undertaker’s Entrance At UFC 276 And The WWE Hall Of Famer Approves

Tuning into Israel Adesanya’s ring walk for the UFC 276 main event could have confused you.

A loud gong echoed in the dark T-Mobile Arena as Adesanya, the middleweight champion, made his way to the octagon with a black hat whose wide brim covered his eyes and an urn with opponent Jared Cannonier’s name written on it.

It was homage to WWE legend The Undertaker, who’s known for his signature “Deadman” walk and look. Adesanya played it to the T, and said it was a fitting tribute heading into his sixth title defense.

“I’m an artist. It just works,” Adesanya said.

“… As I was sitting down feeling it on Tuesday, it just made sense.”

And the WWE Hall of Famer approved.

“The long walk many opponents know and fear … congrats @stylebender!”

The Undertaker, who recently retired, is considered one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE history and was known for his 21-fight win streak at WrestleMania.

In Saturday night’s main event, Adesanya was successful in his sixth consecutive title defense, defeating Cannonier by unanimous decision in front of WWE executives Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H who sat cage side.

Aside from Adesanya’s dominance, he also rose to fame by paying homage to classic Japanese animes including “Naruto” and “Death Note.”

During last Thursday’s face offs, Adesanya imitated a ninjutsu from “Naruto.”

With his latest win and Alex Pereira’s knockout against Sean Strickland, Adesanya and Pereira are expected for a matchup in the UFC soon.

Pereira, who holds two wins over Adesanya in kickboxing, is the only fighter to have knocked him out.
