Jack Della Maddalena vs. Islam Makhachev Headlines UFC 322

Jack Della Maddalena (18-2-0) vs. Islam Makhachev (27-1-0) will headline UFC 322 on November 15 from Madison Square Garden, New York City.

Della Maddalena makes the first defense of his welterweight title, which he acquired after beating Belal Muhammad in May at UFC 315. The defeat meant Makhachev vacated his lightweight title to move up, having previously ruled out the welterweight division since Belal was the champion and good friends with him.

In chief support, Valentina Shevchenko (25-4-1) takes on Zhang Weili (26-3-0) in a flyweight bout. Weili, the former strawweight champion, moves up for the fight. Valentina defended her flyweight title with a win over Manon Fiorot at UFC 315, while Zhang beat Tatiana Suarez at UFC 312 in February to defend her strawweight title. Leon Edwards (22-5-0 (1 NC) also faces Carlos Prates (22-7-0) in a welterweight clash. Edwards lost to Sean Brady in his last fight in May, his second loss in a row, while Prates knocked out Geoff Neal at UFC 319 this month.
