Jacobs-Derevyanchenko Almost Set for October 10

It seems Daniel Jacobs will be returning to Nassau County this fall, as his battle for the vacant IBF welterweight crown may be heading to the Nassau Coliseum.

Jacobs, who’d face mandatory challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko in a rumored November 10th bout, last fought at the venue in November of 2017, when he defeated Luis Arias by unanimous decision.

ESPN’s Dan Rafael, reported that both Eddie Hearn and Lou DiBella were hoping to land the Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden, but could not get either arena for the available date slated by HBO.

Both men will be fighting for the title stripped from Gennady Golovkin, who chose to face Canelo Alvarez in a September 15th rematch, instead of face mandatory challenger Derevyanchenko.
