Jacobs Expects Victory Over Canelo, Despite Judges
Daniel Jacobs is ready for whatever happens on May 4th as he faces Canelo Alvarez, but with the fight in Las Vegas, the IBF middleweight champion is a bit worried about the judges.
When asked if he needed to ensure a clean win over Alvarez would have to be by knockout, the New York native replied: “to get a draw?”
“Let’s just hope the judges can be fair,” Jacobs said of his middleweight unification showdown against Alvarez, who holds the WBC and WBA championships. “Let’s just hope they can call it how they see it and give the fans that paid money to see us fight, just give a fair shake.”
“I’ll definitely be one of the strongest guys he’s fought, and Triple-G’s not as strong as I am,” Jacobs said of Alvarez who just moved up to super middleweight and took the WBA title from Rocky Fielding. “So, I pose a different threat. I’m longer, I’m rangier.”
“I see me winning, regardless. If I put my best foot forward, use all my attributes and adjust when need be, I think I’ll win a decision or a knockout.”
