Jaime Munguia Needs A New Opponent For April 24
Jaime Munguia is in need of a new opponent.
Munguia was expected to go one-on-one with Maciej Sulecki on April 24. That plan has now changed as Sulecki suffered an injury. Mike Coppinger of The Athletic revealed the frontrunner for Munguia’s new opponent.
“Sources: Maciej Sulecki suffered an injury and is unavailable to fight Jaime Munguia on April 24 in El Paso. New opponent being sought and one fighter being seriously considered is D’Mitrius Ballard. Sulecki was set to be Munguia’s toughest test yet.”
Ballard last competed back in December 2019. He went to a majority draw against Yamaguchi Falcao. He has a pro boxing record of 20-0-1, 1 NC.
Munguia’s most recent outing took place in October. He defeated Tureano Johnson via sixth-round TKO. The win improved Munguia’s record to 36-0 and he captured the WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Title in the process.
