Jaime Munguia Schedules Next Fight

Unbeaten middleweight Jaime Munguia (40-0, 32 KO) will return in October at San Diego’s Pechanga Arena.

This is the first time the Mexican boxer will have fought three times in a year since 2019.

The opponent for the fight has not yet been announced but the fight will take place on October 29. There have been attempts to have Munguia fight against Jermall Charlo, Daniel Jacobs and Michael Zerafa, but none came to fruition.

The unofficial opponent might be John Ryder. Fernando Barbosa revealed this past week that the two were in “advanced negotiations.”

As for the next fight, Munguia previously rejected a WBC final eliminator against Carlos Adames, but it is possible that Mauricio Sulaiman could suggest it again.

Munguia also rejected an interim WBO title fight with Janibek Alimkhanuly, so that fight isn’t likely to occur if Demetrius Andrade abandons the full title before his upcoming attempt to get a big payday and “Quazaq Style” needs a partner.
