Jake Gyllenhaal Films ‘Road House’ Fight Scene At UFC 285

This past weekend, Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted during UFC 285 fight week in Las Vegas filming scenes for his upcoming picture, a remake of the 1989 classic ‘Road House’. The film will co-star Conor McGregor and is scheduled to be released by Amazon Studios, although no date has been specified just yet.

Gyllenhaal and McGregor took to the stage at the end of the UFC 285 ceremonial weigh-in show on Friday evening, where they shot a weigh-in and face-off scene between an absolutely ripped Gyllenhaal, playing the role of Elwood Dalton, and former UFC competitor Jay “The Thoroughbred” Hieron (23-7).

Following, on Saturday evening inside the T-Mobile arena, Gyllenhaal entered the Octagon to film the fight scene with Hieron. The scene started off with Gyllenhaal absorbing dramatic punches to the face from Hieron, before countering with shots of his own and eventually knocking his opponent down with a flying knee.

The “fight” concluded with referee Chris Tognoni waving things off after pulling Gyllenhaal off his opponent.

Jake Gyllenhaal is no stranger to combat sports related films, as he starred in the 2015 picture ‘Southpaw’, which followed a boxer who sets out to get his life back on track.

While this is his first venture into the world of MMA, he is surely getting some valuable advice from his co-star Conor McGregor.
