Jake Paul had a few words to say to Claressa Shields following her first pro combat sports loss.
Shields (1-1 MMA) suffered her first pro loss via split decision Wednesday night to Abigail Montes (3-0) at the 2021 PFL Championships. But before she returned to the octagon, she said at the press conference that she could beat YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul with one-hand.
“Claressa Shields is a loser,” Paul responded on social media. “In MMA, and even more so with her prima donna attitude. The fake always get exposed. Losses come when anger and hate take over. Just ask (Ronda) Rousey and (Conor) McGregor. She spent more time berating Jake Paul than learning Jiu Jitsu.”
I love karma @Claressashields,
Congrats Abigail Montes! Someone get her a Twitter! pic.twitter.com/gRTqKLZt8A

Paul manages another female boxing sensation, Amanda Serrano, under his Most Valuable Promotions. He compared Shields’ “GWOAT” status to Serrano.
“Amanda Serrano (the GWOAT), though, has 30 KOs in 42 fights. 2-0 in MMA, both wins by submission. Congrats Abigail Montes on the win,” he said.
Shields (11-0 boxing) is set to defend her IBF, WBC and WBA middleweight titles on December 11 in the UK in a mandatory fight against Ema Kozin.
