Jake Paul Claims He’s Speaking To Nate Diaz’s Team On Potential Fight
Jake Paul thinks a future meeting with Nate Diaz is inevitable.
Paul is a YouTube star, who has made his way into the sport of boxing. He has a pro record of 2-0 with both victories coming by way of knockout. Those two wins were against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA star Nate Robinson.
Paul has a boxing match lined up with former Bellator and ONE Championship Welterweight titleholder Ben Askren. That bout is scheduled to take place on April 17. It appears Paul won’t be satisfied with just boxing one MMA fighter, however.
During an interview with Heavy.com, Paul revealed that he’s in talks with Diaz for a potential fight.
“Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz is going to happen. We’re talking to Diaz’s team. He wants to do it as well.”
Paul says the major holdup would be Diaz’s UFC contract. The Internet personality said he’s been told that the Stockton native has just two bouts left on the deal.
“He has two more fights with the UFC apparently. So we’ll see what happens. If he frees up from the UFC, that’s the fight.”
Paul went on to say that Diaz has been talking trash. He isn’t impressed by what he’s seen from Diaz’s standup skills.
“Diaz started talking s*** to me. Bro, Diaz is a punching bag. The guy just goes into fights and walks forward.”
Paul also noted that he isn’t overlooking Askren. He simply believes Diaz will get “tatted up” if the two share the ring down the road.
