Jake Paul Enlists World-Class Fighters To Prepare For Nate Robinson
Popular YouTube personality Jake Paul appears to be taking his boxing match with Nate Robinson seriously.
Paul and former NBA star Robinson are scheduled to clash on November 28. They’ll share the boxing ring on the same card as Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. This will be Paul’s second pro boxing match. He fought AnEsonGib back on January 30, scoring a first-round TKO.
The bout with AnEsonGib wasn’t Paul’s first boxing match, however. He had an exhibition affair with Deji, the brother of KSI back on February 24, 2018. Paul won that match via fifth-round TKO after Deji’s corner threw in the towel.
Former IBA Super-Cruiserweight Champion BJ Flores, who trains Paul, told BoxingScene.com that the YouTube star is training with high-level fighters to ensure he’s prepared for Robinson.
“Jake has sparred over 50 times with different professional boxers over the last 11 months. This has raised his Boxing IQ tremendously and he has learned how to cope with different styles and techniques. He has been in there with good fighters. Guys like J’Leon Love, Ahmed Elbiali, Kevin Newan, Carlos Monroe and Robin Safar. I want everyone to tune in and see for yourself what Jake can do. He is going to make some big moves next year.”
Flores also praised the left jab of Paul. He says he’s been put in place to guide Paul in nailing the fundamentals of the sweet science. Flores said he made Paul do thousands of reps on the basics until he was able to grasp things.
