Jake Paul To Fight Hasim Rahman Jr. After Tommy Fury Complications
Jake Paul is currently finalizing a deal to face Hasim Rahman Jr. on August 6, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.
Hasim Rahman Jr. is the son of former two-time heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman. Paul was originally supposed to face off against Tommy Fury, however, he was barred from traveling to the United States last week.
Paul said that Tommy Fury (8-0) had until Wednesday to rectify all the issues that disabled him from entering the United States. Otherwise, their anticipated fight on August 6 would be called off.
“Tommy is officially out by Wednesday morning if he doesn’t go to the embassy/come out of hiding,” Paul said on Twitter.
This is the second time a fight between them has been cancelled, as Fury had an injury that forced him to withdraw from a December bout in Tampa.
The upcoming fight will take place at Madison Square Garden, and it will be a co-main event alongside unified featherweight champion Amanda Serrano, who will be making a mandatory title defense against Brenda Carabajal.
