Jake Paul On Ben Askren: I’m Going To Knock His Ass Out Faster Than Jorge Masvidal Did

Jake Paul believes he dispatches Ben Askren even faster than Jorge Masvidal did.

Triller has announced that Paul and Askren will share the boxing ring on April 17. Askren is a former world champion under the Bellator and ONE Championship banners but he’s never had a pro boxing bout. Paul is 2-0 as a boxer but his wins come against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA star Nate Robinson.

Back in July 2019, Askren took on Masvidal in a highly-anticipated grudge match. Going into the bout, Askren was undefeated as a pro MMA fighter. As soon as the fight began, Masvidal charged at Askren and landed a flying knee that shut the lights off. Askren lost the fight via knockout in just five seconds.

During an interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Paul revealed that he feels he’ll knock Askren out in record time (via MMAJunkie.com).

“I started boxing two years ago and I’m still going to knock his ass out faster than [Jorge] Masvidal. These MMA guys think because they throw punches they know how to box. The world complained because I knocked out a basketball player and not a real fighter. So now I’m giving the people what they want by taking on a ‘real fighter.’ After Ben Askren is added to my knockout meme collection, what can anybody say?”

Paul has claimed that he will be training with Masvidal in Miami ahead of the clash with Askren. Masvidal trains with American Top Team in Coconut Creek.
