Jake Paul Still Thinks Conor McGregor Fight Is Realistic
YouTube personality Jake Paul is still holding out hope for a showdown with former UFC “Champ-Champ” Conor McGregor.
Paul was seen in action this past Saturday night, April 17. He took on former Bellator and ONE Championship titleholder Ben Askren in a boxing match. Paul scored the first-round TKO finish.
Speaking to MMAJunkie, Paul said he still believes a showdown with McGregor is feasible. In fact, he feels it’s closer than ever (via BoxingScene.com).
“There are a lot of people [I could fight] but honestly when it comes down to signing the contract, these guys are ducking.
“The McGregor fight just became more realistic like I’ve been saying. I want to do big fights but I want to take some time off, I’ve been working my ass off.
“I only want to do big fights but I want a challenge at the same time. Ben Askren was a step up, OK look what happened but we’ll see what the next challenge is. I want to do three million or four million pay-per-view buys so who is going to do those numbers?”
With the victory over Askren, Paul has improved his pro boxing record to 3-0. All three of those victories have ended via TKO.
