Jake Paul Wants $15 Million For Fight After Tommy Fury Denied Travel To U.S.

The popular YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul might be seeing a new face in the ring for his highly anticipated return in the upcoming scheduled bout on August 6 as his expected opponent for the clash, Tommy Fury has been denied a visa to the U.S.

In view of the current circumstances, Paul has suggested his team find a new opponent for him in case Fury is unable to make it to the bout. Fury was due to attend a press conference in New York that was set up last week but due to his visa refusal, this was called off until further notice.

On Wednesday, Paul posted a video to social media where he accused Fury of “ducking him” and claimed that the Fury family is not helping by showing no urgency.

“We’ve spoken to Tommy Fury’s lawyers. They are all advising him to just go to the embassy to get his visa. That’s all he has to do. But Tommy is showing no urgency, he hasn’t gone yet. He’s not communicating with us on what he’s doing. Is this another case of ‘Tommy Fumbles’ just being scared to fight me? I think that’s what it is.”

Paul suggested another way out of this situation.

Instead of Fury coming to America, he can go to the UK for a fight, but he wants $15 million for it.

“I think the Fury family’s trying to manipulate something here to make me fight in the UK. OK, you want me to fight in the UK? Show me $15 million, because here in America we do more pay-per-view buys, we do more ticket sales, and we do more sponsorship. I’ve shown you the money, we’re ready to go — MSG, August 6,” he added.

“Tommy, you’re going to miss out on the biggest payday of your life, because you want me to come to the UK? Like I said, I’ll come there, just show me the money. But y’all can’t do that. Y’all don’t have $15 million.

“This is embarrassing. Go to the embassy, get your visa, and let’s make this fight happen. Stop ducking me and stop wasting my time.”

Some have linked the issue to the Fury family’s alleged association with organized crime leader Daniel Kinahan, co-founder of MTK Global.

Paul and Fury were originally due to meet in the December of last year, but an illness and an injury forced Fury out of the fight.

If Fury is unable to make it to the bout, a report from the Manchester Evening News said UFC star Nate Diaz could step in, but he would need to be released from his current UFC contract.
