YouTube celebrity Jake Paul is clamoring for a showdown with former UFC “champ-champ” Conor McGregor.
Paul is scheduled to take on former NBA star Nate Robinson in a pro boxing match on Saturday night, November 28. The bout will serve as the co-headliner for the exhibition match between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. This will be Paul’s second pro boxing match and Robinson’s first.
Speaking to CBS Sports ahead of his showdown with Robinson, Paul said that he feels a matchup with McGregor is destined to happen (via Bad Left Hook).
"Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor is bound to happen. I know he's seeing these interviews, I know he's seeing the sh**t-talking. It's gonna happen."@JakePaul said he wants Conor McGregor next!

“Look, it’s bound to happen. At the end of the day, this is a business, and you know, we’re talking about pay-per-view buys. This fight on Saturday has already shattered pay-per-view pre-sale records, by far. McGregor has that same pay-per-view draw, I have that same pay-per-view draw, and I think after I take down a couple more opponents, Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor is gonna be undeniable.
“There’s no other fighter with as big of a platform as me that’s calling him out right now. He wants to fight Manny Pacquiao, Manny Pacquiao will destroy him. It’ll be another embarrassing night for him, just like when he got embarrassed by Floyd. And so Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor is bound to happen. I know he’s seen these interviews, I know he’s seen the shit-talk, and it’s gonna happen.”
McGregor is set to collide with Dustin Poirier on January 23. The lightweight rematch will headline UFC 257. The plan is to have the event take place in Abu Dhabi with fans in attendance. If McGregor wins, he’s hoping for a mega showdown with Manny Pacquiao inside the boxing ring.
