Jake Paul Will Make Mike Tyson Fight ‘Happen’ This Year

Jake Paul is even more determined to make a bout with Mike Tyson happen after the legendary boxer’s recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel.

Tyson, a former heavyweight boxing champion, expressed some interest in taking on the YouTuber-turned-boxer, but among that possibility, he also gave some respect to the 25-year-old.

“He’s skilled enough, yes,” Tyson said on the show.

“I’m gonna give it to him. He’s skilled enough because he’s winning. Even if he’s fighting guys that you guys don’t believe is a good enough fighter, they should be able to beat him, but they can’t.

“He’s beating people that he shouldn’t really be beating. We got to give him that credit.”

Paul is coming off a wild knockout of Tyron Woodley, who was a late replacement for Tommy Fury – Tyson Fury’s half-brother – who withdrew due to an injury.

Paul announced he will return to the ring on August 13 at Madison Square Garden, but it’s unclear who he will be facing. Some reports say that Tommy Fury is the runner up contender.

Tyson last fought in an exhibition match in 2020 against fellow legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr.

Paul has been expressing his desire to face Tyson in an exhibition match for a while now.

“Thank you to the great Mike Tyson for the respect and opportunity. This year we are making it happen,” Paul tweeted.
