The weigh-ins for Jamel Herring vs. Jonathan Oquendo have wrapped up.
On Saturday, September 5, Top Rank Boxing will roll out another fight card. In the main event, Herring will put his WBO Junior-Lightweight Title on the line against Oquendo. It’ll be Herring’s second title defense. At the age of 37, this may be Oquendo’s last crack at a major championship and he’s hoping to make good on this opportunity.
Both men tipped the scales ahead of fight night. Herring made weight at 129.5 pounds, while Oquendo clocked in at 129.6 pounds. This makes their WBO Junior-Lightweight Title fight official.
Taking a look at some of the undercard fights, Steven Nelson and DeAndre Ware both made weight for their super-middleweight showdown. Nelson weighed in at 167.6 pounds and Ware’s weight was 168 pounds. Jesse Rodriguez (109.2) is also set to collide with Janiel Rivera (109.3).
