Jan Blachowicz Eyes Next Opponent For March Return
After losing his UFC light heavyweight title to Glover Teixeira at UFC 267 in October, Jan Blachowicz is eyeing redemption.
The Polish star wants to square off against top contenders like Aleksandar Rakić in his road to redemption next year.
“All fighters in the UFC, top 10, top five, you know, they are amazing fighters and (it’s a) pleasure for me to fight against all of them,” Blachowicz told The MMA Hour. “Rakić is good for the next fight, but we will see. He’s good, he’s strong, you know, young fighter.”
The former UFC champ seemed displeased with not being booked against Anthony Smith for unknown reasons.
“I cannot tell you (who I’m fighting next). I cannot tell you but I will not fight against Smith… I don’t know (why not). I don’t choose opponents… UFC never asked me about Smith.”
Blachowicz wants to reign at the top again and he is willing to put the pedal to the metal to achieve that.
“In March will be perfect for me. Now we’ve got holidays, new year, and after that start to train hard, very hard, and back in March, end of March,” he told Helwani.
