Jan Blachowicz Stops Dominick Reyes, Captures UFC Gold

Dominick Reyes vs. Jan Blachowicz has concluded, which means there is a new UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion.

Reyes and Blachowicz competed on Saturday, September 26. The two clashed inside the Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. They threw leather in the co-main event of UFC 253 for the vacant 205-pound gold.

In the early part of the opening frame, Reyes utilized the inside leg kick. As the round went on, he abandoned the kicks possibly due to the power Blachowicz packs in his hands. Reyes was cautious in the opening frame as he respected the power of Blachowicz.

Blachowicz threw a combination in the second stanza. Reyes went to the leg kicks more. He barely missed a head kick. Reyes ducked a hook and landed a counter uppercut. A body kick landed for Blachowicz. Reyes got sucked into a slugfest and paid for it. Blachowicz landed a combination and seemingly broke his opponent’s nose with a straight punch. A clean left hand rocked Reyes and Blachowicz finished it off with ground-and-pound.

Blachowicz is the new UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion.
