Jared Cannonier Vs. Sean Strickland Verbally Agree To Fight In October

Jared Cannonier and Sean Strickland are both looking for wins.

Cannonier (15-6) and Strickland (25-4) have reportedly verbally agreed to a five-round main event at a UFC Fight Night on October 15, according to MMA Junkie.

Ariel Helwani was the first person who made it known that UFC is working on scheduling one of the UFC fight nights with middleweight top contenders as the headliners.

Cannonier is the former title challenger who missed his chance to dethrone Israel Adesanya. On the same night, Strickland earned the title shot, but he suffered a knockout loss against Alex Pereira.

Cannonier is a UFC veteran. In his latest victory, he defeated Derek Brunson, who was said to be undefeated. Brunson almost finished the fight in the first round, but Cannonier landed brutal shots in the second and served a KO loss to Brunson.

Strickland was on a winning streak and seemed to be undefeated after his return.

He was undefeated in the middleweight division, but Pereira finished him under several minutes. A left hook and right cross were the shots that took the title shot away from Strickland and delivered it to the new UFC fighter, Pereira.
