Jaron Ennis In Advanced Talks For Unification Fight By Year’s End

Jaron Ennis could be one fight away from establishing himself as the clear No. 1 at junior middleweight.

Ennis and IBF champion Josh Kelly are reportedly in advanced talks for a three-belt unification fight targeted for November or December.

Ennis (36-0, 32 KOs) holds the WBA and WBO titles after stopping Xander Zayas in the seventh round, further strengthening his position at 154 pounds.

Kelly (18-1-1, 9 KOs) would put his IBF title on the line and have the opportunity to score the biggest victory of his career against the unbeaten American.

The fight could bring further clarity to a 154-pound division that has lacked a clear frontrunner since Jermell Charlo stepped away. Victory would leave Ennis just one belt short of becoming undisputed, while a Kelly upset would dramatically reshape the division.

Talks between the two camps have reportedly made significant progress, with a November or December fight in the United States being targeted if a deal is finalized.
