Jarrell Miller Arrested For Carjacking And Burglary

Police have detained Jarrell Miller on carjacking and burglary charges.

Reports indicate he was taken to Broward County Jail after being arrested on January 2, 2024, in Hollywood, Florida. He was charged with ‘carjacking without a firearm or weapon and burglary with assault or battery,’ and a $30,000 bond was issued.

It is claimed Miller stole a Black Dodge Ram truck, with the help of a woman from, Haims Motors, a dealership based in Hollywood. The woman allegedly informed the employee she had left her phone in the truck. The worker went with the keys to the truck when Miller threw him on the floor and drove off. A tracker in the vehicle allowed the authorities to find Miller.

The arrest was after Miller’s recent loss to Daniel Dubois. He was stopped in the tenth round on ‘The Day of Reckoning’ event in Saudi Arabia. Miller hit the scales at 333 pounds, showing he was far from his peak condition. That played a part in his loss as Miller slowed down considerably at the tail-end of the fight.

The arrest also caps off a career marred by controversies. He failed numerous tests for his Anthony Joshua fight in 2018, preventing him from fighting for the unified heavyweight championship. He missed out on a $5 million purse. Andy Ruiz Jr. stepped in to secure a huge upset win, leaving Miller with many regrets. The latest incident may well spell the end of his boxing career if he is given a hefty sentence.
