For UFC 286 in London, a ranked women’s flyweight bout is planned.
The pay-per-view event at The O2 on March 18 will feature a match between former title contender Jennifer Maia and unbeaten Casey O’Neill.
Still, neither party has signed the bout contract, according to MMA Junkie.
The 25-year-old O’Neill has three stoppage victories against Shana Dobson, Lara Fritzen and Antonina Shevchenko in her four UFC fights.
Most recently, O’Neill defeated Roxanne Modafferi by split decision at UFC 271.
On the other side, Maia (20-9-1 MMA, 5-5 UFC) will try to win her second consecutive fight.
In her latest battle, Maia, 34, defeated Maryna Moroz by unanimous decision to end a two-fight losing streak.
Maia has had a rocky record ever since losing to champion Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 255 in 2020. But a win against O’Neill can put her back in the right direction.
Here’s the targeted UFC 286 lineup so far:
- Roman Dolidze vs. Marvin Vettori
- Jennifer Maia vs. Casey O’Neill
- Luana Carolina vs. Joanne Wood
- Malcolm Gordon vs. Jake Hadley
