Tszyu was fighting for a bout against former WBO titleholder Brian Castano, but Castano won the right to take on Charlo in a rematch for the undisputed championship first.
Castano lost his belt to Charlo by 10th-round knockout.
Meanwhile, Tszyu fought Terrell Gausha and won by unanimous decision in March. Charlo and Castano were originally scheduled to fight in March, but Castano pulled out due to injury.
