Jermell Charlo Picks Winner Of Terence Crawford vs Errol Spence Jr
Crawford-Spence has yet to hammer out an official date.
Undisputed 154-pound champion Jermell Charlo knows feels like one of the two between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. hasn’t yet reached an elite level.
Jermell has backed his fellow Texan Spence Jr to outbox Crawford when the two will clash for the undisputed welterweight championship.
“I don’t know how y’all still got him on the pound-for-pound,” the boxer said while speaking on an Instagram live.
“But I guess he won some kind of undisputed title when he was at 140. But it’s a whole another level when you take a notch up. Y’all people don’t really understand that because at 140 they don’t hit the same as 147 and once you get to 154, oh God, who the king?”
Jermell’s comments came hours days after Crawford mentioned him to Brian Custer on The Last Stand Podcast. Crawford, who has been undefeated in his career so far, revealed that he will be open to sharing the ring with Jermell next.
“Of course, I’d beat his ass any day. Easy,” Crawford had said.
Jermell wasn’t very impressed with the interview. He feels like Crawford lacks the skillset required to dethrone either him or Spence.
“Man, Crawford all over the place, dog,” the 32-year-old said. “Matter of fact, we from Texas making Crawford popular. Shout out to the Charlo twins, Errol Spence for making Crawford noticeable in boxing. Crawford’s jealous cuz he ain’t got no money.”
He also claimed that Crawford is trying to pick his fights just to make money.
“Crawford, he scared of Spence and he doesn’t want to fight cuz he’s chicken, right,” Charlo added. “He wants to try and get to the money. Everybody over here chasing the bag. I hear you. I’m chasing the bag for my family here.”
On Monday night, Charlo also took to his Twitter account to further castigate Crawford, apparently in response to an interview Crawford gave to.
