Jesse Hart, Top Rank part ways after nine years together

This hasn’t yet been confirmed whether the promotion axed him and other fighters or Hart decided to move to the next stage of his career.

The boxer wrote on Twitter: “After a long, successful partnership, Top Rank and I have decided to part ways.” He feels that this relationship has been important to building his career, but it’s now time to work on forming new partnerships. However, Top Rank has not issued any official statement to address Hart’s exit.

The 31-year-old knockout artist last fought and lost to Joe Smith Jr. in January 2020. This loss denied him a chance to contend for the light heavyweight title.

The veteran boxer has since been trying to get a fight against a notable opponent, but the coronavirus pandemic only added to his agony.

To avoid being a journeyman in the division, Hart was even willing to box the new comers. Undefeated super middleweight prospect Edgar Berlanga (17-0) was likely to be Hart’s next opponent but the talks never progressed beyond mere discussion.
