He won a title during his time at 115 pounds.
The highly talented southpaw Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez will return to flyweight as the fight between him and Cristian Gonzalez for the vacant WBO title is set to go down under in San Antonio on April 8.
After fighting at the super flyweight for the most part of 2022, the 22-year-old is on track to return to his natural weight in the new year.
During his time at 115, Bam won the WBC world super flyweight title.
The San Antonio native recorded victories over formidable opponents like Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Israel Gonzalez during his time at 115. And not to forget, his one-sided dominant display against Carlos Cuadras which earned him the WBC title.
Bam will have his work cut out when he returns to 112 as he will be welcomed by the 23-year-old Gonzalez.
Gonzalez has shown grit and perseverance whenever called into action in the ring and has only one loss to his name so far which came against Angel Ayala Lardizabal back in 2019.
Rodriguez will be fighting in front of his home crowd in San Antonio.
