Jim Miller (39-19) marked his emotional return to the Octagon with a first-round submission victory over Jared Gordon (21-9) at UFC 328 in Newark, New Jersey in front of his home-state crowd.
The finish came when Gordon shot for a takedown following a Miller kick, keeping his head down in the process. Miller locked in a guillotine choke and forced the tap in the first round.The victory took his UFC win record to 28, the most in the promotion’s history.
“My son went through some really difficult times in the last couple of months. He ended up kicking the s— out of cancer, and he’s all good today. We are cancer free. And one of the things I told him when he was dealing with it when he first got diagnosed is Millers have been called a lot of names over the years, but fragile has never been one of them,” Miller said
